Love and Longingness

I am single.

What's worse is that I have been in such state since brith.

Yes, you read it right. I haven't gotten myself in any relationship yet. Since then. Until now.

Now, the year has almost passed and I still haven't found or met anyone that would become my 'life partner'.

I even don't have any idea if I have met him already but I just had no clues about it yet or will he still make his ways to me still.

There are times that I really do feel happy with my life. In fact, I am really with the way my life has been. Of course, I do have regrets but looking back, those have taught me valuable lessons in life.

But I also am longing to feel how life could be if I am or was in-love.

I am still pretty young. At my age, 22 [soon to be 23 this coming February], I can still say I am young. In fact, people at first thought that I was in my teens. Such compliment!

But with me in this fast-pacing world, I feel so old with my life experiences. What's worse was that I have already experience some of the hardships in life older people tend to experience in their latter years and yet I haven't felt how it is to be in-love.

Also, people younger than me, literally, have already gotten their partners. Some even have already bore or is bearing a child!

I am not complaining nor comparing. It's more of questioning 'Why them' and 'How about me'.

I should not be asking questions such as those but I cannot help but wonder. Being a natural skeptic, I ask why do things happened to them already when it should be first happened to me.

But then again, I also know for a fact that everything has its own reason and timing. And love does required someone to be rational and seasoned for this.

But if love should be like that, how come there were failed marriages and broken families? How should one keep the love burning till forever?

Days before someone messaged me up, saying that I was too happy with my life, and that I becoming used to being single. This has made an impact to me, psychologically. I really don't know how to react on this that time. I jokingly answered him but deep inside of me I was hurt. I wasn't prepared to receive comments such as that.

People also thought that I am in a relationship, being happy and outgoing. They don't believe me that I am not, and that I didn't have any ever since.

I really do want to know how people perceives me, especially the guys. Back in high school, most of my classmates' commented me as someone who intimidate others. I really don't get it and I don't even know how did I do it. Up to now I still can't fathom how did they come up with that presumption.

Am I undesirable? Am I unworthy of any love? Will I be someone who will ask for love pitifully?

One of my fears is that I grow old without experiencing love and that I grow old all by myself. I really don't want to be lonely. I can be alone but I don't want to feel lonely at all.

Honestly speaking, I am somewhat tired of being lonely. Deep inside I really do want to have a partner already. I even do want to feel how it is to be pursued by someone.

I'm getting older and older each day but I am getting more and more lonely as days pass by.

I really long for love to come. It hasn't come my way yet. I just hope it is already on its way.

One Year and Counting....

In this exact day last year, I attended my first event with the RX Jocks. It was the laser tag tourney held at Lazer Xtreme in Alabang Town Center. I was with the White Team aka Team Pop Pop! that was headed by Fran and Adre of the Awesome Adventures. I won't narrate anymore how I became part of it. There was a different post for that. Just look at my posts. Hehe~

Literal na niluhuran ko si Master. ;)
Unexpectedly, I met a lot of Rushers there, avid listeners of The Morning Rush. I was a silent rusher [those who only listen to the show everyday but doesn't participate in the show's 'activities']. I met Dyn [Ako si DCM now I can be DYNamic] who let me meet Ina [the Butterbaby] and then introduced me to the one and only Master oscar [dela Hopia]. I was starstruck literally and bowed to Oscar that time.

Not only I met the 'legends', I met the people behind the entries. Upon going on our own ways, I hurriedly went to the National Book store and grabbed myself my very own copy of The Morning Rush Top Ten Book 1.

My TMR Book
Ever since I've been an active part of the Rusher community. If I could, I will send in entries. There was some time that everyday I will send in entries for that day's topic and then some will get included in the top ten list, for the whole duration of the show.

Of course, there were times that I don't tune-in, not because I don't want to, but because I have to finish my work. I admit that there were times that my work was at stake if I tune-in all the time, being in night shift. I just have to balance work with listening and joining the fun on-air.

Also, I have won some prizes already to the show. Most people do remind me as the lucky winner of this year's MYOH pair from Havaianas Philippines. Even I can't really imagine that I won such. It was really pure luck. And yes, I was very grateful for the Kikay Barkada for it. :)

At the MYOH First Day
Of course, there were some times that I almost won it. One specific time was when Delle was being picked-on by Chico and Gino and then they had someone to call for the McDonald's McCelebrations promo. I called and sang but somehow Delle got jokingly offended, saying that I couldn't win it. Then the line got cut surprisingly. And then, Kitt Ritche got the prize instead of me having it. Hahaha~

I really had fun with the Rushers. I was able to do some things that I thought I would never do, at all. If I state them here one-by-one then this post might be too long to make you bored. Hehe~

Excitement came again when the Kikay Barkada announced last week that the Book Two of The TMR has been released already. All rushers went berserk in finding and hunting for those treasures. Even I had a hard time looking for them since I was on a night shift and the bookstores are almost closing whenever I arrive at work. I repeatedly went to the same book store every day just to ask for this.

Then came yesterday, 365 days exactly after I bought my first TMR book, I finally bought it! And what's great about it is that I have 2 entries on it!

I really don't expect any of my entries to be included. If there was, I am grateful. If there was none, still I'll be happy for those who has theirs, and still enjoy the book. Two of my closes rusher friends [Master Oscar and Ina the Butterbaby] broke the news to me. Just imagine how frantic I was at those times. Hahaha!

Now, I will savor this book, not just for my own happiness, but for others a well. This book is really something to make you smile even in the gloomiest days of your lives. So, I have to end this post here to re-read again my newly-designed TMR Book 2. ;)

Happy one year to the active rusher me. Cheers to more rushing and kikay-ness to me. :) ^^

The Samurai-ffic Experience

Yesterday, I was able to attend the Advance Screening of Rurouni Kenshin Live Action Drama Movie in SM City North EDSA Cinema 7. I was very fortunate to be one of the winners of last week's promo made by SM Cinema North EDSA.

How did I join in their promo? Simply by following and mentioning @smcinema_north during the promo period. It can be anything! In my case I tweeted them about how much I really like to watch the movie, ever since I learnt about it.

Then come early Sunday morning. As I was waiting for the online streaming of some animes I was watching that time, I received an early tweet from the twitter handle. I was part of the winners' list!

They did DM me of the details. Of course, I got so excited for it, I almost had no sleep thinking about it and who will I bring with me.

I thought of having a contest, just like when I won some advance screening tickets way back in January but no one responded to it. I posted an invite to my first cosplay group, Cosplay Le Familia fb group. Jeff, a cosplayer I met during the Jerry Polence fan meet-up was the only one responded. After some minutes it was decided that he'll accompany me.

Around 3.30 pm, I went on my way to SM City North EDSA to find Cinema 6. Since I was not that frequent to that mall, I need ample time to find where to claim those 'golden tickets'. Luckily, I made it in their office around 4.30 pm. After claiming, I went to the nearest Catholic Church to give honor, praise and thanks to Our Lord, but well, that's a different story. Hehe~

The mass ended 5.45 pm, making me have some 'me time' in Uniqlo SM City North EDSA. Just as I was about to pay, Jeff called me up, saying he was already on-queue. Things got a little more exciting when we were able to meet [in my case, know] some cosplayers on line, so the queuing was not that bad. We even got a chance to be on-cam for some minutes. :D

When the clock hit 7.00 pm, they started to let us in. We chose the Orchestra seats, as per Jeff's decision. Then waited for the movie to start. Of course, it's not that easy. They had to show a bunch of sponsors during the waiting period. I guess they repeated the sponsors' ads for 10x or so.

And I, being not new to advance screenings, expected that there will be some prizes at stake. I didn't get wrong. In fact, I was able to grab a gift certificate from Paire [one of the sponsors] by answering the 2nd question. I really stood up for the 1st one but then a man got ahead of me for a few seconds. Talk about competitiveness haha!

Surprisingly, I saw some Rushers [avid listeners of The Morning Rush in RX93.1] in the house! Well, it was Elen who spotted me first. I don't know how 'coz the cinema was somewhat dim, or just because I was so loud talking to my friends. I was so glad to see Elen and Ron [Moja-jiichan], excitingly went to their place [which was just 2 rows in front of me] and greeted them happily! I was literally shouting and jumping for joy!

Of course, when the movie started, all was quiet... But everyone broke their silence during the fight scenes and the comedic parts! I really love their adoptation. It's really like bringing the anime into life. All were greatly done, even the actors and the stunts.

I really enjoyed the movie. Actually, I was craving for a rewatch upon ending the movie! The movie is really worth the wait! Every petition made was not wasted. It is really one of the best live action drama adoptation I have watched.

Also, I fell for Kenshin's actor, Satoh Takeru. I've been seeing and reading great reviews about him for the role since it was played on cinemas on August this year but little did I know that they were all true! He even surpassed my expectation of his portrayal as Kenshin. He even had the accent!

Good thing that SM Cinemas really made it possible for all otakus, especially the Rurouni Kenshin fans. We are really grateful for this offering. I hope this will open a new door of opportunity to have Japanese-Korean movies straight from their land of origin be played here.

This is a highly-recommended movie, not just for the otakus, but also to everyone. I hope everyone will get a chance to watch this highly-acclaimed movie.

Post Hong Kong Getaway

Seven hours after landing from my HK trip I still can't get over the wondrous feeling I and my family had while we were in the Chinese territory for almost a week.

I now started uploading the pictures in my facebook account but it was still the first day pics. We got more than 500 pics per day, so I expect them to be finished by Sunday.

I don't have any jetlag because there's no time difference between Philippines and Hong Kong but I am sleepless. I barely had any sleep at all awhile ago, thanks to the fast-draft Macau trip we had yesterday.

Will post some blogs for the trip itself. I'll finish first the uploading of pictures and then get some nice sleep. ;)

Multiply No More

I was checking out my Multiply account after not accessing it for months. And then, a not-so-very nice letter appeared right before my eyes.

Here, take a look at it:

Nice move, Multiply, to think I store all my photos [as in A-L-L] in my account for easy-access online. =_=

Good thing I also store them in my eHD. I won't be having troubles DLing all the albums I've posted during my usage.

My problem now lies with where to post my albums, all the way from 2009 till the present. And also all the blog posts I have written [not to mention some nonsense blogs I had way back in HS] LOL. :p

I just wish I could find an alternative to Multiply.

Beware of this Basic Taxi Driver

I would have just keep mum about this issue but then this driver has driven me to the point-of-no-return.

Here's the whole story:

I was with my office mate Don in getting this taxi. Because we live in different ways, I didn't ask him to ride with me anymore.

I rode on this Basic Taxi with Plate No. TXD 443 in front of Microtel Acropolis - Libis along E. Rodriguez Ave. in QC, some minutes away from our office. I decided to ride the taxi there to somehow accompany Don in riding the jeep in the same area.

As I ride in the taxi, I told him my drop-off point and the way to take. He agreed to it. At first...

Then along came the usual M-H traffic in C-5-Ortigas area. He didn't take the fly-over, thus us being stopped by the traffic lights along the way. Then Tiendesitas - J. Vargas area came, with a much heavier traffic. He suggested to take Shaw route via Tiendesitas and J. Vargas - Meralco Ave. I insisted at first but seeing the somewhat smooth flow inside Tiendesitas I agreed.

Then traffic said hello again to us, along J. Vargas - Meralco Ave. Somehow it's still tolerable. I even sang with the classic songs played over the radio... Not until the driver took a left turn to Oranbo - Ultra Area and then tried to go back again to C-5 area.

I asked him, "Manong, saan ho kayo dadaan? [Manong, what route are you going to take?]". He said that he will go back to C-5- Bagong Ilog area. I insisted, saying that that's the original route I told him to take and then he insisted to take the Shaw one. I told  him to go back to Shaw for it's the route he wanted to take up first, and that he should take the Kapitolyo-Brixton route to Mandaluyong. Good thing he listened. And I thought this will be the end of this nightmare.

We were moving swiftly, but with a little traffic congestion along Shaw-Kapitolyo and Brixton Sts. As we were nearing to take the right turn to Reliance St., he then stepped on the accelerator and off we went to the inner streets of Kapitolyo, Pasig. He even stopped at one corner to ask a passer-by to ask for directions and where does the street go to, with me being just silent at the back seat. Because I know those streets, I blurted to him to take a U-turn and just go back to where we were before taking that route.

And I thought all along he knew those streets! He asked me for the directions for us to go back to Reliance. Irritable as it seems, I told him the directions, with the comment "Manong, kakaraan lang ho natin dito. Di niyo man lang natandaan yung dinaanan nyo? [Manong, we just passed-by here. Don't tell me you can't even remember these streets?]".

And in that part, I felt and thought surely that this driver just want to have some more fare added to the taxi meter that I currently have during those times.

We drove back to Reliance, and as swift as it goes, with some minor traffic congestion along Pioneer, I got home in about 20 minutes. No traffic at all in Mandaluyong area!

As I near my place, I decided to take some pics of this rude driver. I was also thinking if I should get a pic of the driver's ID but hesitated till the last minute. But good thing I changed my mind.

I handed to him my fare, Php300.00 [because of all the things he done, my normal taxi fare from Eastwood till home is up by Php100.00; it's supposed to be only Php200.00, with all the traffic and stuff]. My gosh!

Before I went down, I asked for his name. He said he is Manuel Chan. I asked back, "Can I take a look on your ID?". He answered back, "I don't have any". Of course, that's impossible, I answered back, "You're driving around yet you don't have a driving license?". Upon hearing those remarks, he then gave this Company ID.

Poor company for having you as their employee.
As I take the picture, he then blurted out, "Magsumbong ka lang, kahit sa pulis [You can complain anywhere, even on the police]". Sad to say, I don't need the police. I just have to go straight to this driver's company and make my complains there.

Just as I stepped out of the taxi, he moved forward. What a coward! He almost made me stumble on the ground. I held on the door for some minutes and vented all the anger and shouted at him, "Manong, kung ayaw niyo ng traffic, wag kayong mag-driver. Walang pasaherong may gusto ng traffic. [Manong, if you don't want to get bugged by the traffic, might as well quit being a driver. No passenger has liked the traffic also]" and then I slammed the door at him. He hurriedly left the area, stepping onto the accelerator. I almost got wet with the impact of the wheels on the stagnant water in the walkway.

As I entered the house, I told everything to my older brother, who luckily listened to me earnestly and gave his opinions. Of course, I would have wanted to do those things but I'm also after my safety. Then he just watched me with my every move.

What move am I saying? As I've said awhile ago, I made a complain to their office. I got their office's number in the taxi but it's always busy. I tried looking in the internet and luckily stumbled on their website. I dialed the number and viola, I talked to one of their employees.

I narrated the events, short but surely. They radioed him but cannot be contacted. For sure he knows I'm making my move. The person on the other line told me to call again after 5 minutes but I insisted to stay on the line. They tried to still contact him but to no avail they can't. He might have turned the radio off.

Basic Taxi Plate No. TXD 443
Body No. 802 (if I heard it correctly)
One thing that they assured me of is that he will be reprimanded. Sorry but I don't want to settle with that. I want him suspended. Why? If he was just being reprimanded he can still do it to other passengers, whereas if he will be suspended it will leave a mark for sure.

As much as I would like to stay anonymous, they can't suspend the driver without a proper complain done by the passenger. Leaving me with no choice, I gave them my name and home number. With that, they can update me IF EVER an action will be implemented against him.

I want to share this post, long as it seems, to everyone who's always riding the taxi. it happened to me in broad daylight, right after work. Good thing that I know the route he tried to take. Pity on him for I am a daughter of an Engineer-slash-Former-Taxi-Driver and so thankful that I am streetwise.

Believe me, I really, really, REALLY tried to stay as calm as possible and just enjoy the ride since it was drizzling and there are classic songs on the radio waves, making me feel emotional all of the sudden. But with the turn of events, with the driver getting irritated at first with the traffic when he was the one who suggested to take the route, till the mishaps on the roads to take, who will not get irritated with this. His last remark to me was also the most irritating thing I heard awhile ago. Instead of asking for forgiveness, he dares me to even go to the Police Station. As if I will concede from his challenge.

I just hope that this will serve as a lesson to all taxi drivers out there who want to do something to their passengers, be it taking a different route then making it like they're lost, or having a very fast taxi meters.

We passengers can only not just go to the Police or to your company's offices. We have the Internet, where information is spreading faster than your lousy excuses.

As I've said to some people I've already talked online, I only lose some bucks. But with this post [and if it gets viral], the driver and its company will lose its name, which is bysofar more valuable to any company than money.

But of course, money is still valuable as it seems.

I is Just Too Tired...

... of work.
... of life.
... of the negativity.
... of being alone.
...of being me.

No. Seriously. I really would like to have my ever-dearest, most-expensive vacation to date now. As in N-O-W! And I mean it, with the emphasis of each letter.

I want some time to re-build what I am, of who I am. Because seriously, it seems I'm at the crossroad once again.

But not that one like before, for I really don't have anything to do in mind.

Now, I do have something but sometimes I don't.

Now that's confusing...

I might need this blog more often than before. I really have to release this stress, this tension building up on me.

I just hope I do find time.

Random Post about Fifty Shades of Grey

So I've started reading Fifty Shades of Grey, like this Sunday and I've already finished it.

Now, I'm on the 2nd book of the trilogy. And I'm way past the half of it.

I'm totally hooked into it, not JUST because of the kinky stuff in it, but because of the great love story Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel has.

Even I do wish to have my own Christian Grey at some point.

Is it bad? I mean, to wish something like that?

Just remove all the BDSM stuff in it, it still has a story. A great, somewhat-tragic, love story between Seattle's Richest Bachelor and WSU-V's Greatest Literature Geek.

It's the complete opposite of the magnet but yes, opposite do attract.

I'll just see what will happened to them. I just have to continue my marathon of Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy as I rest from my flu.

Makakain Mo Kaya Ito?

An Intriguing Picture of the Superpowers

Right in front, the Asian lady with a tattoo on her back is China.

On the left, the lady full of concentration is Japan.

Dressed at the top looking sideways is USA.

Lying rather seductively is Russia.

The little girl standing by the side is Taiwan.

China "tripled" the Dong tiles (East Winds, this is a double up). This means that China has arisen with the circumstances (the winds); maybe that is the display of the "East Wind" missiles she possesses now. It looks like China is doing ok, but there is no clue about the other cards (tiles). Meanwhile she is up to no good under the table.

USA, appearing confident, is looking at Taiwan with an expression; perhaps to read from the look of Taiwan or to send some message.

Russia may appear indifferent but it is far from that. One leg is on USA and one hand is passing card(s) to China. They are some discreet exchanges going on.

Japan has all eyes on the cards, unaware of what others are doing.

Taiwan wears a red abdominal vest, maybe implying she is the last successor of the Chinese culture. She holds a tray of fruits in one hand and a fruit knife in the other, looking quietly at China with resentment. But she has no option. She is not in the game (a little girl too young to play the game?).

Dark clouds hang over the river outside the window implying tension over the straits separating Main Land China and Taiwan.

The portrait on the wall is interesting, mustache of Sun Yet Sun, the bare head of Chiang Kai Set, the face of Mao Tze Tong...

How the 4 ladies are dressed is also very interesting.

China bares her top, with panties and a skirt.

USA is almost fully dressed but bares her bottom.

Russia is left with only panties.

Japan naked.

These perhaps reflect the status of each nation;

The attire of USA appears to be most complete, probably because she is still the most powerful. Others are short of something here and there. Though USA is most presentable, she has nevertheless exposed her bottom (line). China and Russia look naked but keep their private parts are covered.

We assume this is a stripping game where the loser removes a piece of clothing.

In this game, if China loses, she will be like Russia today... (broken up).

If USA loses, she will also be like Russia...

If Russia loses again, then she has nothing left...

And Japan is already left with nothing....

Russia may appear to have drawn an extra tile (by the rule of the game, she cannot complete the game i.e. cannot win) and is hanging on for nothing ... BUT she is actually exchanging tiles with China...

The other person hanging on is Japan since she has no more "chips". She is out of the game if she loses.

In conclusion:

USA is pretending. She looks most glorious but faces great dangers. If she loses this game, she loses her dominating position.

Russia has a leg each on a boat, most sly ... Her situation is a little like China after liberation (when the communist took over China), sometimes with the USSR and sometimes with USA. Due to her lack of self sufficiency, she has to yo-yo between two parties for survival and room of development.

China has many tiles but they are not in view. Does that imply China keeps her strengths under wrap? And she is exchanging tiles with Russia under the table.

USA can only guess from the expression of Taiwan what may be happening between China and Russia.

Japan looks ignorant as she continues to focus on her cards.

China’s hand (of tiles) is most unpredictable.

Poor Japan ... there are so many things happening around her. She has no chance of a win and she is out the moment she loses.

Taiwan keeps watch as a bystander. She sees all that transpired in the game and she understands. But she is not qualified to, nor capable of participating in the game. She has no right to speak. She is full of grievances and is utterly helpless. She can only be the maid, offering fruits to the winner(s).

The winner should be a pick between China or USA , there is little doubt about this. Then again if you notice, they are playing Chinese Mahjong, not Western Poker.

Playing with the rules of a Chinese game, what are the odds for USA?

I am so excited for it, for it's the sign that she'll be part of a wonderful family of Our Dear Lord.

And also, the day after the baptismal will be her 1st birthday!

Proud and happy Tita and Godmother here. :D

11th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2012

What: 11th Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention 2012
When: June 15 - 17, 2012
Where: SM Megatrade Hall 1, 2, 3, and Conference Room

Who otaku won't get excited for this, huh? It's the annual toycon here in the Philippines!

And to make me more excited, this will be my debut cosplay activity. I just don't know who will I cosplay for the first time. Will it be set 1, set 2, or stick with the first character that I cosplayed months ago? Hmm~

26. 30. 11.

No, those numbers are not dates, nor even some mystical, lucky numbers that I should bet on the lottery.

Those numbers represent what happened to me the previous days. Let me state them one-by-one.

26
This number represents the hours of stay I just had in the office. My work is a graveyard-shift one, thus making me go to work at around 9 in the evening and then go out after 9 hours, breaktime inclusive. What happened during my Friday night shift was that we had a call-in conference from someone [1 hour], the color-coded group count that was related to our Mobilympics in a week-time, and the endless interruptions I had that time.

Honestly speaking, I have lots of pending work-related stuff that night so I decided to focus on it and expect to go overtime for about 2 hours the most. I didn't expect that the overtime will stretch to 26 hours more!

What my pendings were? Billings to HC, Host Confirmations [a lot in fact], and the Check Coding. All these process are IBM-related processes so many might not familiar with them. I did the check coding first, then a little host confirmations [for those that I can "solve"], and then proceeded with the billings. Man, it was tough!

And since I was new, I have never-ending questions and asking guidance to my peers. Good thing they are accommodating to me and are good at teaching me. So far I get their instructions in the first try! And yes, they expect me to ask them lots of Qs and that it will take me hours to finish them.

30
This was the hours I am awake, since I arrive at the office few minutes late only. I woke up Friday night minutes before 7, prepared to work at 7.30, then got off to work around 8.15 pm. My place was more or less than an hour away to Eastwood so it's pretty much near. Somehow.

After work I went to my place in Bulacan with Okaasan [mom]. The travel time took 30 mins. only from Balintawak to Pulilan and then some 15 minutes till our subdivision. I slept at 1.00 am exact, thus ending my day.

11
This is supposed to be 12 but since I just had this number of hours asleep, so be it.

I tweeted yesterday that what I want as of the moment include a 12-hour long sleep. My sleep was long but not enough for me to be satisfied that fully. Haha!

In order to somehow fill-in the lacking one-hour sleep, I took my afternoon nap for 2 good hours! And after that, I am rejuvenated. You could see it 'coz I was able to blog.

Lesson
Of course, there should be some lessons, or just even realization as to what happened to me. Because of the workload that I have, I wasn't able to attend the Rushers' Month-end EB and also the Komikon in Bayanihan Center.

I don't want work to hinder my social life that much again! If I have to go overtime on regular days without any social activities the next day then so be it. As long as my outside-work events won't suffer from being in the office all the time.

Also, I must learn how to focus more on the work. Less net, more excel. Less tweets, more checks. Less FB surfing, host confirmation information sending.

Last but not the least, bring some pair of undies and a set of clothes to work. Also some toiletries. In order to freshen up oneself since we're allowed to somehow sleep in the quiet room for some time as our break.

I hope this won't repeat again. I don't want this to happen in the next future. Oh please!

I Miss You, Bloggy

...and I don't know when will I be able to write something again. I'm now past my 'sleeping time', and yet, I am still wide awake. I really have so many stories to tell to you!

I really would like to have you again with me. But with various action items I am currently handling at work being with you seems so far from happening.

I won't promise anything that I'll be with you this weekend. But I will, really, must find time for you. I really do have lots of stories to tell.

Sigh~

P. S.
I am now confused as to what should I share to you, if it will be the MYOH event or the latest happening in my life, which is, Brian-niisan's acquisition of the to-die-for game, Diablo III.

P. P. S.
I will first gather my thoughts. I just wish that words will still be there when I'm about to put them here.

To Those Who Love To Dance...

...an inspiring message awaits you on one Youtube channel.

Awesome message! Very inspiring and moving. Makes me wanna be back on the dance floor very soon!

So Many Stories, So Little Time

A lot of things happened to me this previous week As much as I would love to tell them right now I just can't.

I just got off from my work, and I must say that having this kind of shift kinda sucks. You have to go home via cab every night that would cost me around Php170 [US$5].

My original shift is the great! Thou I get to spend my Friday nights in the office which is I'm not used to. But hey, being in night shift has its own benefits!

I really have so many stories to tel, like how I got my 2 pairs of Havs that I won last week via RX TMR, how the heck I was included in the EK EB the rushers planned months ago, and my first salary. Hihihi~

So for now, I must bid goodbye. I got to rest this poor body which had come a long way this day.

Konbanwa! ^^

China 'claims' Philippines as Chinese Territory

Before, it was just the Kalayaan Group of Island. Then came the Scarborough Shoal dispute. Now, the whole Philippines?

China seems like making statements out of their reach, and yes, territories.

A Chinese news anchor deliberately made a mistake while on-broadcast, stating that the Philippines is a Chinese territory.

See the statement at 1'35". Oops~!
“We all know that the Philippines is China’s inherent territory and the Philippines belongs to Chinese sovereignty, this is an indisputable fact.” - He Jia, anchor for China Central Television’s (CCTV)

China Central Television's (CCTV) He Jia apparently made the claim on their late Monday night broadcast. Now, it has been repeated replayed over the net.

Honestly, this is ridiculous. But well, let's just leave everything to them.

Here's just my parting words for this: MYOBC!

From Tokyo With Love

Finally, Japan's Giant Retailing Company Uniqlo has come to the Philippine shores!

I've been a fan of Uniqlo since I stumbled on their page years ago. I may not have some merchandise from the store but I am eyeing to buy some when we have our HK trip. But no need to go to HK for this. Because it's already here!

The flagship store will open on June 15, 2012, at SM Mall of Asia.

And yes, they're bringing their great clothes here, straight from Japan!

That includes merchandise ranging from Limited Edition collaboration clothes from world-known artists, partnerships with Japanese firms and entities, and a lot more!

Also, you have a chance to win tickets for 2 to the Land of the Rising Sun! Isn't that great?

Just check out Uniqlo Philippines' Official Facebook Page for details.

Most Intriguing AI Episode Ever

Warning: Spoiler Attack!

I never, ever, got hooked in watching American Idol but I do know who won each season. And it's not new to AI-wannabes who have Filipino heritage to join the contest and won a million fans.

credits to nj.com
This season, it is Jessica Sanchez who is mesmerizing the audience, not just the Filipinos worldwide, with her singing prowess. And I admit that she's one of the top contenders of the said program, being able to belt out classics flawlessly and render her own version of the modern songs greatly.

Last performance night, she performed great, as usual. Thanks to my twitter feeds for keeping me updated on her journey to the top.

But it was a shocker this morning [Night in America] that Jessica was at the Bottom 3! She got the lowest votes among the three, thus making her evicted from the competition. But don't fret, because the judges saved her, by J.Lo getting up on the stage, stopping her 'last song' and declaring to the whole America that they are saving her. Great decision judges!

Watch video here:

I was so shocked that I flooded again my timeline with updates on Jessica. Yes, others don't want to know about it but what can I do?

A friend of mine told me that after J.Lo declared the saving, a lot of Jessica bashers sprouted out, saying that she deserves to be kicked-out, that she is not deserving to be the next AI. Some also said that it's very unruly for an Asian to get the AI title. Such racists!

Yes, she might have an Asian heritage but she is an American citizen now. The AI Management allowed her to join the competition BECAUSE she's American without tracing back her roots. Common sense bashers!

And yes, I will continue to check on Jessica whether she will really make it to the top or the save will be gone wasted. But I'm sure Jessica fans will not let it end that way.

So go on, vote for Jessica. Text VOTE to 5703. US Phones only!

Joe Cheng and Lee Da Hae on Christian Dior Event

credits to Lee Da Hae's twitter account (@cherry4eva84)
I never imagined that these two artists will have a photo together. My heart literally skipped a beat out of joy upon seeing the tweet my friend made on my timeline. They really good together!

Briefer: the guy is Joe Cheng, the actor from the It Started With A Kiss series (Taiwan). He is my ultimate Taiwanese actor crush [pardon the fangirl screaming out of me as of the moment; I just really missed him haha]. The lady is Lee Da Hae, a famous Korean actress who's more familiar to be linked with My Girl, the Korean hit Drama.

Both of them I adorn so much. I never really imagined that they will pose for a photo like this. And yes, according to Joe's Weibo account, they both attended the Christian Dior event and saw each other. Perhaps they are goods friends behind the camera, bywhich I was not aware of.

I just want to see them do collabs in the near future. They do both look adorable [as I keep on repeating and repeating myself]. Thou nothing beats the ArJoe tandem for me and DaHae-DongWook couple. ;)

Love Rain's HaNa Ringtone

There's this cute ringtone Jang Geun Suk's character Seo Joon had in his phone. It's entitled HaNa, just as Im YoonA's character name in Love Rain drama.

You may find the translation of the ringtone here.

SNSD Featured on RX 93.1

Thanks to Jinri Park and Tom Alvarez, I got to hear SNSD again on local radio, more so, it was on my favorite radio station!

Jinri, a full-blooded Korean, is a certified SONE, loud-and-proud. She keeps on playing Gee on their background whenever she likes.

And with the current reshuffling of RX radio programs, JinTomnia was transferred to an earlier slot (M/F 8.00 - 11.00 pm, T-Th 7.00 - 10.00 pm). They are offering all listeners new segments on the show. And one was #kpopgoesmyheart.

Guess which group they featured on their first day on earlier time slot of the show? it's So Nyeo Shi Dae!

All PH Sones were glad to hear them on RX. Jinri's, as well as Tom's, timeline is full of tweets regarding SNSD. I myself was mentioned by the two for stating them some facts about my favorite girl group.

The duo did play Into The New World. For those who aren't familiar with this song, you may view their video below:

Here's Jinri's tweet to delight all SONES out there:

Isn't it sweet? SNSD every 9.15 pm this week at RX 93.1! Daebak! I am endlessly tweeting them since last night to play some latest single, one is The Boys. Let's check it out later if my request will be played. Hehe :D

Hearing K-Pop songs on local radio isn't new to me [I heard SNSD's The Boys last New Year Eve and some others on diff. radio stations] but nothing beats hearing them on my favorite radio station. Kudos to the JinTomnia duo!

Update on Instagram for Samsung Galaxy Y

Last night I tried re-dowloading from the Google Play store Instagram for Android but I can't seem to find it. It turns out that the makers did disable it for Samsung Galaxy Y users. This blog explains the reason behind it.

Here's what Instagram developers said on their web post:
"There is a known issue with the Samsung Galaxy Y
that causes images to appear black on the filters screen and when uploaded.
We are currently investigating this issue."

I just realy hope that this problem would be fixed. For now, I am stuck with using Pick by Naver. It got really cool editing features, from simple effects to very cute and fascinating stamps and frames. Go check it out too. It's in Japanese by the way.

Instagram on Android OS

Ever since I knew Instagram on iOS I have beenwishing that it would have an Android version. Not that I already have an Android phone before but it seems so much accessible to me since my brother has a Samsung Galaxy SII phone.

Then there came my newly-brought phone from my network provided. My plan contract was already finished and I still want to continue it for more years so they gave me a free Samsung Galaxy Y even thou I was eyeing on the iPhone 4s that they offer. Still, I accepted the phone open-heartedly, to think that it is an Android phone.

I've been searching in the Google Play Store different camera apps that is somewhat like Instagram. I've downloaded 3 and one is pretty much close to it [Pick by Naver]. And then, I read this tweet that Instagram released the much-awaited Android version. Of course I downloaded it right away and tried it if it is working.

But to my dismay, it seems it is not yet fully working for my Android phone. And I thought I was the only one experiencing it. It seems other Galaxy Y users are experiencing the same too, making our hype gone to waste.

Thanks to this blog I knew everything about the app problem. I just hope that they will solve it before I finally decide to stick to Pick by Naver, which is a cool cam app from Japan. ;)

Weekend Well-spent

I got to spend my weekend outside my house. It was a well-spent one, having able to attend 2 different activities on 2 different days.

Saturday, March 31, I was about to go to Alodia Gosiengfiao's birthday bash event in SM North EDSA but due to some circumstances I wasn't allowed by my parents. But then, an opportunity opened: I won some tickets to a foreign act concert in the same venue where I was supposed to be. Unlucky for me, I wasn't able to drop by there. I will blog about the concert separately.

Sunday, April 1, I spent it with some elderly folks of Hospicio de San Jose in Manila. It was my first time there and I was so glad to be part of those who made these forgotten folks of ours happy somehow. I will blog about it also separately, with pictures and stuff.

After that outreach program, I was able to get a new phone! Thanks to my network provided who gave me a stylish Samsung Galaxy Y, thou we weren't able to name the subscription under mine. Still have to wait another 2 more years to have it changed. But still, 2 years is a short period of time. For now, even thou I'm heart-broken with the iPhone4s plan, I will enjoy to the max my new Android phone. Thanks Smart!

I just need some time to gather the thoughts and finish uploading the pics for the 2 events [by which I haven't started yet]. Give me some time to update them before Maundy Thrusday.

Blessed Holy Tuesday to all, from the Philippines.

Updates on Mapua's MRR Policy

I just want to thank the anonymous reader who commented that the post of Nendogamer was already taken down. It seems that the Admin Office of Mapua has taken notice of this issue, thus having the afflicted Mapuan remove the post before the big media corporations swoon over it. It only showed that the post was indeed effective. I just hope it will bring him blessings.

On the other note, there have been changes in the MRR Policy posted in the Mapua website.

In keeping with the standards of excellence that is Mapúa, the Institute is implementing a Maximum Residency Requirement (MRR) policy. The MRR is based on the premise that the knowledge and skills learned by its graduates are current, applicable, useful and beneficial to the industry where he/she is engaged in, and to the society, in general.
The Maximum Residency Requirement (MRR) is not new and is common to all schools.
With the fast-paced world we live in, concepts, theories and instruments change easily and the graduates who bear the Institute's name should be able to possess the necessary tools to better his environment. The curriculum should always be relevant. A graduate who is not properly equipped may prove to be a disservice to the industry/society he works with.

These words weren't present when I read the policy yesterday. It seems to avoid any future mishap that may lead to something similar to the incident blogged by Nendogamer. Aside from these addendum, nothing else has been changed.

You may access Nendogamer's original post here.

Mapua's MRR Policy

I stumbled upon a blog that indicated that our college, my alma mater Mapua Institute of Technology has declined his petition to finish his course using the curriculum he was under when he was still in school. He, a BS Computer Science student from the Makati campus [from which I was also in but from different department], had planned to return to school after stopping for some years due to financial constraints and family matters. He stated in his blog that he only have one subject and the OJT required to finish his schooling. But Apparently, the Makati Registrar didn't allow him, even told him that the curriculum that he had was already dissolved. The worst, he was told to repeat all the subjects that he previously finished again, from the scratch!

Of course who wouldn't be furious and frustrated with this set-up? I myself had various arguments with the campus Registrar due to negligence on their part in handling some of our business and accounting-related subjects back then. But this incident is so ridiculous! Without any notice to its students, current or on hiatus, the campus just then set such regulations!

Here's a juice of Mapua's so-called Maximum Residency Requirement [or simply MRR] Policy:

  1. The resolutions on MRR will be implemented on the following students:
    1. For four-year programs, Batch 2007 and onwards
    2. For three-year programs, Batch 2008 and onwards
    3. Batch 1989 and prior
  2. For all Batch 2000 to Batch 2006 students, and for Batch 2007 students of three-year programs, they will be allowed to finish their studies using their original curriculum if their remaining number of units is 15 units and below. Otherwise, for those students with more than 15 units remaining, the most appropriate curriculum, with crediting of courses, will be adopted.
  3. For Batches 1990 to 1999 students, they will be allowed to finish their studies on a case-to-case basis and subject to the conditions required by the Institute.
Effective this Fourth Quarter of Academic Year 2011 – 2012."
credits to Mapua website

If I'm reading and understanding correctly, those who belong to Batches 2000 to 2006 with less than 15 units left will be allowed to still follow the curriculum they had during their stay. But why is it that this certain Mapuan was declined of such rights when the policy itself dictated the rule?

Is This Still True? I hope so...
Good thing that something like this never happened during my stay in Mapua but I pity those who are still wanting to continue and finish their courses in our alma mater. I know some people from higher year levels that stopped their schooling for various reasons. I hope that Mapua understand that being in a 4-term school, money is very much essential for the continuance of their study. And with this policy effective this coming term, it seems that they're making the students their own cash cows. It is proper to say now that education really becomes an investment of the child, due to high tuition fees that should be paid every enrollment, by which in our case was always in 3 months time.

I just hope that this issue will be solved without making a big news from it. Let just hope for the best for that Mapuan and of the school also.

The Effects of Lack of Sleep

People nowadays tend to throw away their old lifestyle of sleeping and waking up early and in time for everything. It has already been a trend to stay up late, finish what you got to do, cram for it, then take an hour of rest or two. One would be very lucky if he got 3 or more hours of sleep.

A fitness and wellness site had just enumerated the Top 10 Hazards from Lack of Sleep. Here are they:

Higher Blood Pressure
Higher Risk of Heart Attack
Increased Levels of Stress Hormones
Lower Resistance to Illness
Poor Concentration
Low Problem-Solving skills
Memory Lapses
Unpleasant Mood and Depressions
Age Faster Physically due to Disrupted Metabolism
Weight Gain

Apparently, during my college years I always lacked sleep due to the nature of my major [Accounting], given the fact that I had afternoon to evening classes and endless paper works and piles were given to us. So sometimes I experienced symptoms related to the hazards: chest pains, dizziness, weight loss [in my part]. I even had more mood swings when I'm sleepless that's why when my classmates knew it they don't make me angry or what.

I agree that sleep is really vital to maintain our good health. It's the only time that our body do most of the important jobs it requires. So lacking sleep means we're slowing down our body system, thous making ourselves sickly and unable to do work properly. Lack of sleep cause Slow Body Metabolism.

I made sure that I still, at least, get to have 6 hours every night. Lucky for me if I get to sleep for more than 6 hours. I am a heavy sleeper; I'm a self-confessed sleepyhead. That's why even thou sometimes I still feel like 6 hours of sleep won't do just yet, I still get up and wake. During vacations I sleep like a baby; 12 hours is still too short for me. My longest was 16 hours!

But of course, too much sleep will be bad too. Just think of how many meals will be skipped to accomodate your good sleep.

So do check your sleeping habits especially if you're lacking it. If you tend to oversleep better start forgetting to hit that snooze button of your alarm and get up on time. If you lack sleep, don't abandon your bedroom. It's for your leisure and relaxation. Don't just say it. Practice it!

Eugene Domingo: People's Choice for Best Actress

I just want to share these videos. I've been reading a lot about our very own Eugene Domingo bringing home an award from the recently-concluded 6th Asian Film Awards and how she conquered the stage with HK Sensation Andy Lau but I never got the chance to watch any related videos until now.

I salute you Ms. Eugene! And yes, I agree to you that you're very famous. But now, you're more than just very famous. You're Asia's Choice for Best Actress! Congratulations for that. You really are one of the country's pride. I hope you'll be more successful, and yes, I am also praying for Eugene-Andy movie tandem. It'll be hilariously fun and uber cool!
